TGV INOUI Pro
Redesign of TGV INOUI Pro, the mobile app for business travellers, covering UX, UI and a scalable design system for iOS and Android. Clarity under pressure for journeys, tickets, disruptions and on-board services.
What we had to solve
An ageing experience
The existing app carried years of incremental features: dense screens, inconsistent patterns and journeys that asked too much of users under time pressure, finding the next train, opening a ticket, reacting to a delay.
Trajectory under engineering constraints
The train trajectory component had to handle real-time states (delays, added stops, platform changes) within strict native performance budgets, shared tokens across platforms, and APIs that don’t always return complete or stable data.
Components that survive production
Every pattern, inputs, alerts, service icons, trip cards, needed to stay readable at scale, documentable for product and engineering, and resilient across light/dark themes without fragmenting the codebase.
How we got there
- 01
Audit & framing
Mapped critical journeys (trips list, trip detail, stations served, ticket access) and scored friction against real traveller scenarios, boarding windows, group bookings, mid-journey disruptions.
- 02
Design system foundation
Defined the TGV INOUI Pro visual language: Avenir typography, brand magenta, secondary blue/yellow for info and alerts, and a component library (inputs, buttons, banners) ready for dual-platform build.
- 03
Trajectory & dense UI
Designed the stations timeline as a stateful system, progress, warnings, added stops, then stress-tested layout density so engineering could implement one reusable pattern instead of one-off screens.
- 04
Handoff & iteration
Specs, tokens and interaction states shipped with design reviews alongside product and mobile teams, then iterated on feedback from store ratings and in-app behaviour.

What changed
A clearer Pro experience for travellers managing trips at pace, ticket access in one tap, readable disruption states, and a shared system that keeps iOS and Android aligned as the product evolves.
